The Client's Challenge
As a healthcare provider, The Retreat Clinics recognised the importance of maintaining a safe environment for both patients and staff. Although there was no known asbestos within the building, the age of Hampden House meant asbestos-containing materials could potentially be present.
The client required a full asbestos management survey to identify any risks, satisfy compliance requirements and ensure the building remained safe for ongoing occupation. Due to the nature of the clinic, the survey also needed to be carried out sensitively around patient appointments and daily operations without causing disruption.
Our Approach
We carried out a detailed asbestos management survey across Hampden House, inspecting all accessible internal areas including treatment rooms, offices, communal spaces and basement areas.
The building measured approximately 920m² and remained operational throughout the inspection. Samples were taken from a range of suspect materials commonly associated with buildings of a similar age and submitted for laboratory analysis.
Our surveyors worked closely with clinic staff to ensure inspections were completed discreetly and efficiently, avoiding disruption to appointments and maintaining patient privacy at all times.
Following completion of the survey and laboratory testing, a detailed asbestos survey report was issued outlining all findings, material assessments and recommendations.
