The Client's Challenge
Carlsberg Brewery had scheduled the installation of new beer pump lines at Rowley Hill Club, Huddersfield. Before any drilling, fixing or installation work could begin, an asbestos survey was required to ensure the proposed work areas were free from asbestos-containing materials that could present a risk to contractors.
The client required a fast turnaround to avoid delays to the planned upgrade works and needed a clear report that could be submitted directly to the brewery's project team before installation commenced.
Our Approach
We carried out a comprehensive asbestos management survey across approximately 75m² of accommodation, focusing on the basement chiller rooms where kegs are stored, associated storage areas and the service routes leading through to the main bar area.
As the club was closed during the inspection, unrestricted access was available throughout the survey, allowing all relevant areas to be inspected thoroughly and efficiently. Particular attention was given to the locations where new pump lines were expected to be installed and any materials that could potentially be disturbed during the works.
No suspect asbestos-containing materials were identified within the accessible survey areas. As a result, no samples were required and a detailed asbestos survey report was prepared confirming the findings.
