The Client's Challenge
Raja Meats operates from a large commercial facility in Doncaster consisting of warehouse space, processing areas, offices and ancillary accommodation. As asbestos-containing materials had previously been identified during an earlier survey, the business was required to undertake periodic re-inspections to ensure these materials remained in a safe and manageable condition.
The client needed an updated asbestos register that accurately reflected the current condition of all known asbestos-containing materials. They also required reassurance that no significant deterioration had occurred and that appropriate management controls remained in place to protect staff, contractors and visitors accessing the site.
Our Approach
We carried out a comprehensive asbestos re-inspection survey across approximately 8,000m² of operational industrial and office accommodation. The inspection included ground floor production and warehouse areas, first floor offices, welfare facilities and additional storage areas.
As this was a re-inspection survey, no additional sampling was required. Instead, all previously identified asbestos-containing materials were revisited, inspected and condition assessed. This included asbestos cement roof sheets, asbestos cement debris and asbestos insulating board materials identified during earlier asbestos surveys.
Each asbestos-containing material was photographed, reassessed and recorded within the updated asbestos register. Condition scores were reviewed, management recommendations were updated where required and all findings were incorporated into the client's revised asbestos management documentation.
